PARCC ELA testing - April 26-28, grades 3 - 5
PARCC Math testing - May 2-5 , grades 3-5
A great big THANK YOU to the Kumon Center of Burlington for donating 2 tables to our art room. Having two extra moon-shaped tables really helps with instruction! Thank you Kumon!
The Fuzzy Pink Unicorns, led by Mr. Raymond, were this year's champions defeating Mr. Stead's team the All Stars in the final shoot-out! There was great participation on the part of the 5th graders as well as many teachers who showed off their hidden basketball talent! Thank-you to the student council members and their advisors who sponsored the event to raise money for the MSPCA.
"Our Trash, Our Choice" recycling program was presented by Mr. Musselman and Miss Pavlechek during a Tuesday morning assembly. The goal was to make the students aware of the quantity of trash we produce at lunch everyday and encourage the use of our recycling bins. The science teachers weighed the trash each day and we are proud to report that Francis Wyman was the only school that reduced our waste every day! Way to go kids! Keep recycling.

Principal & Assistant for a Day!
At this year's carnival, Miss Alex Burke was the lucky raffle winner for the coveted prize of "Principal for a Day"! She quickly recruited an assistant in Miss Lexi MacKinnon and the pair spent a busy day trying to fill my shoes. A few of their duties included morning announcements, visiting the Kindergarten Art Museum, helping to prepare a lesson for 1st grade, participating in Story Hour for next year's kindergarten class, and helping out with recess duty. The girls were enthusiastic participants in their new roles and were a pleasure to work with for the day - great job Alex & Lexi!
