Francis Wyman Math Wizards
Check out our 5th grade Math super stars that recently competed in a community math competition
hosted at Memorial Elementary School.  Mrs. Lynch entered 2 fifth grade teams who sacrificed
a Saturday morning to complete these math challenges.  I am so proud of these enthusiastic, motivated students from Francis Wyman.  Thank-you to Mrs. Lynch, Mrs. Myer (parent volunteer), and our FW Math coach, Mr. Pera, for your support of these students!

Last Used Bookstore June 8 -  8am  For the last used bookstore of the year, we invite parents to come with their children to help pick out books for the summer.  It's a great chance to get books at the lowest price around.  Any book for 25 cents!  Hope to see everyone there.  Please have students check in with their homeroom teacher before coming down to the cafeteria.

Spring Art Show and Concert
Thank you to our Music and Art teachers for their extra efforts in hosting a wonderful Arts Night last Wednesday. Mrs. Peabody, Ms. Potts, Mrs. Gendron, Ms. Berger, Mrs. Kerr, and Mrs. Finkle worked diligently to put this evening together!  Music filled the air while art decorated the halls.  The artwork created by students in grades 1 through grade 5 will be on display in the hallways through next week.  Parents, if you did not have the opportunity to come last Wednesday, please come view the colorful display anytime during regular school hours.

-- Positive Behavior School Reward -- 
KICKBALL for EVERYONE!  After earning over 300 CARES coupons in each grade over the past several weeks, students from every grade level received the opportunity to play a rewarding game of kickball today.  Fun was had by both students and teachers!  Thank you Mrs. Logan for working out all the details that helped make today a great success!







A Beautiful Butterfly Garden Emerges!
The Service Learning Club, with the help of Mrs. Casey and Mrs.
Schnee, built an amazing butterfly garden in the front of Francis Wyman. The garden is designed to beautify the school grounds as well as provide a perfect spot to release all our hatching butterflies!  Great job to all the club participants!

 May is the Official Month of Kindness, thanks to some of our Francis Wyman students.  It takes a long time for an idea to become law as our students found out this past year.  Governor Baker officially signed a law recently proclaiming that May is the Month of Kindness.  "There isn't enough kindness in the world and we all need a reminder..." said Representative Ken Gordon who came back to Francis Wyman to share this proclamation with our students who have been invested in getting this law passed for over a year.

Farmer's Market Info
"Tips for Going Local without Going Crazy; how to use a local farmers market in shopping and preparing meals for your family” presentation and cooking demonstration at Grandview Farm (55 Center St., Burlington) on Wednesday, May 25th at 7pm. Event features Julia Shanks, local chef and cookbook author. Doors open at 6:30pm to allow you time to check out informational tables from the Burlington Community Victory Garden, Farmer Dave’s CSA, and Lahey Hospital & Medical Center. Event is FREE!



Burlington Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts and Venturing Crew
Scouts are having their tenth annual scouting expo at Rahanis Park,Sunday May 22 from 9-noon…… Come and Join in the Fun!Scouting age boys and girls (Grades 1-12) are invited to come and check out the scouting programs in Burlington. Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturing Crew Members will demonstrate the spirit of teamwork, camaraderie, respect and responsibility that scouting is about. Join with the scouts in the “MINECRAFT Live” followed by Burlington’s largest cardboard recycling event, experience live animal demonstrations by the
Burlington Science Center, build and launch your own water rocket and many other games and challenges. Leadership from all of the towns scouting units will be on hand to answer any questions about the Scouting Programs in Burlington and accept new registrations. Join us for a morning of “Fun with a Purpose” Sunday May 22 from 9:00 am to noon.

Incorporating cross-age social skill development, curriculum
knowledge,  and musical talent they performed "The Water
Cycle Rap".  They were all so impressive it was impossible for
this judge to select a winner!
