Principal Brady and Assistant Principal Bruno
Miss Brady and Miss Bruno were up to the daunting task of sitting in as Principal & Assistant Principal for the day at FW!  They were the lucky winners of the raffle prizes at this year's Spring Carnival.  They spent a busy day covering recess duties, answering phone calls, sharing positive notes with their teachers and classmates, helping out with a reading activity in Kindergarten, and even visiting with Scooter, our favorite therapy dog!  They did a great job making sure the day went smoothly - thanks ladies!

Get ready for our next WHEEL OF WYMAN puzzle which will be revealed for the students starting on Tuesday this week.  Students will be earning incentive coupons for demonstrating "Respect" throughout all areas of the school.   So far our students have earned extra recess with a dance party option, a special movie, and a grade level game day with board games in the library or basketball games in the gym!  Looking forward to our next reward when the WHEEL OF WYMAN reveals the secret message.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to the PTO Teacher Appreciation Committee and all of our FW families that contributed to a fabulous luncheon in honor of our amazing staff here at Francis Wyman.  The "picnic" themed teacher appreciation luncheon was amazing and greatly appreciated by all of us who had the opportunity to enjoy the delicious spread!

Highlights from the Grade 5 Pirate Show, matey!
Students and music/band teachers worked diligently for the past two months to prepare for their band performance and Pirate musical.  Their instrumental, singing and dancing talent was top notch and their enthusiasm was contagious as they performed for parents and students.  We are so proud of all of their hard work!

And some great shots from the 4th grade characters performing in the Muppet Show...

These creative 4th grade muppet characters also performed for their senior friends from the "Bridges" program who thoroughly enjoyed the creative, musical performance.  Well done 4th grade!

A huge thank you to our teachers who facilitated a fabulous Art's Night this week.  Mrs. Peabody, Mrs. Samuels, Mrs. Gendron, and Mrs.  Canzano put together a fabulous music show, including the orchestra and band, the 4th Grade Muppet show and the 5th Grade Pirate show.  Well done!  Mrs. Kerr and Miss Vigneau spent the last few weeks hanging and displaying art in our hallways. This fine display of student art will be hanging for parent viewing over the next few weeks. Come during school hours to check it out! And lastly, thank you to Ms. Carney and Mrs. Ardizzoni for hosting another successful Scholastic Book Fair!  It was a wonderful celebration of our students' year long investment in art and music.

Mrs. Goguen's class takes a closer look at
animal & plant adaptations...

Students in 3rd grade took a close look at animal skins, bones, and parts of plants to better understand how they are adapted to survive in the wild.  Students predicted with partners, took pictures, and created journals using the Notability App on their iPads.  Examining these items up close prompted lots of scientific conversations and questions to explore.
Great job 3rd grade!
